Home Classical Court

From Perotin to Prokofiev (and beyond), performed by Caruso to Khatia, it's all here.

Oh, boy, oh, boy!

More important than the press reviews, is the review of our own Dave (or The Real Dave) who actually thought Zander's M9th was ok. It's not his favorite though, and you can get recommendations (and quite an education) by reading Dave's posts about Mahler here.

I like Zander's 9th but am definitely not an expert here. I like the extra CD included that discusses the process of conducting a symphony (including two pages of conductor's score) as well as (for me) a good introduction to Mahler's symphonies and details on each movement. Good for a newbie. There are several good reviews so it can't be too bad, and the extras are cool. I have been banned to the cellar for liking Zander here, so caveat emptor. For all my posts about Zander's Beethoven 5/7 I cannot ever visit Holland - I'll end up in the river.
