I haven't heard Kovacevich as a conductor, but he's usually very good in Beethoven and Brahms as a pianist. Berezovsky can really play. Didn't someone already say that?;-) He won the Tchaikovsky competition in the early 90's(I can't remember exactly what year), and his recordings have won some awards, too. I don't own anything by Berezovsky, but his piano recording of Night on Bare Mountain has been on my shopping list for quite a while.
