What time period are we talking here, the period defined as Classical? I believe Bruckner wouldn't count then.Do we mean "orchestras and music usually played to people in tuxes in large concert halls"?
I mean, Stravinsky is in or out here? Bach? Hayden? Sweelink? Praetorius? Vierne, Widor? Cale? Copeland?
