From Perotin to Prokofiev (and beyond), performed by Caruso to Khatia, it's all here.

What about the responsibility of the student ...

... to sometimes just sit still, shut up and listen..? Sorry to seem contentious, but it seems to me that
the onus is on the person who wishes to gain the knowledge to take the good with the bad, rather
than expect to have everything handed to them on a silver platter in ribbons and bows. I still do not
understand the impulse to sugarcoat information and reduce it to the lowest common denominator,
because if it takes work to understand something, then so be it. I sometimes feel that the balance
of responsibility between teacher and student has inequitably shifted, and those in 'teaching' roles
are unnecessarily burdened with the exhortation to make every ounce of what they wish to impart
digestible and 'fun'. Perhaps there is also room for those in the 'student's' chair to know
their place, take their lumps, and quite simply..learn.
