Home Classical Court

From Perotin to Prokofiev (and beyond), performed by Caruso to Khatia, it's all here.

Re: Sharfangeschloss'nem Kettenschmerz

208.3.221.4

If there is one thing I know as much about as classical music, it's the German language.

>>"Kettenschmerz" means literally "chain pain".
Actually it is what is left after a cat is hit by a car.

>>"scharfangeschlossenem" would mean "to the sharply attached" (nonsense)"
Now that is a term I will decline to translate and would not use in mixed company, Jasmine excluded (though she is as 'mixed' as anyone can be). What someone does with their "schlossenem" is their business and should be kept private.

Glad I could be of some help in this matter, have to go now and translate Robert Tilden's TV sermon from this morning.

Bilingually yours, :-)

Neil
