Home Classical Court

From Perotin to Prokofiev (and beyond), performed by Caruso to Khatia, it's all here.

Silly Me!

I bought 'em both. I mean, the Furtie I already know is going to be KILLER. The Tosci (Puccinian, yes?) I'm interested to hear simply for the contrast with his NBC set. When it comes to the "beatswayer" concept, I'm more than ready to be bored by it if the beat is being swayed by a limp wrist. But if it's cajoled forward with a jack-hammer intensity, I'm THERE! I figure that Tosca :-) got wrapped up in British cordiality, and the Philharmonia recordings will reflect that fact (First Violin: "But, my dear Mr. Toscanini, in the name of decency we simply CANNOT -- and SHALL NOT -- succumb to such barbarity as that which you imply"...Toscanini's Reply: "Faggotaboutit! You's play it da way you's wanna". Toscy, after all, was the original Godfather.

It should all be highly entertaining!
