Hmm, this is a curious choice. I wouldn't have considered him for Bruckner, but seeing as how he's in front of a good band (and not that horrid London Phil), this might be interesting. While his Mahler cycle is idiosyncratic at times, at no point can one claim that it's devoid of passion, and (inspite of that horrid London Phil) he's actually able to crank out some real winners (the M5 and M8 in the cycle are particularly good, and the M6 would be reference material if that horrid London Phil didn't suck so bad). I would have thought his Bruckner was too idiosyncratic, also (and maybe it is), but this doesn't necessarily make it bad.
