Since recording companies seem to be recording less and spending less money, it would follow that orchestras will be under more monetary constraints than ever. The trend seems inevitable. Bye.Conclusion (made by SE, I think): buy up all the old stuff you can find - the heyday is over. We will be lucky our grandchildren ever hear the name Beethoven much less Furtwangler.
