This NEWLY REMASTERED set (WITH ABT "Abbey Road Technology"...done in 1999...NOT the same masters previously available only in Japan) is, sonically, outstanding.5 CD set -- loaded with goodies, including the 7 Symphonies -- EMI 67299.
Based on the couple of tracks I've heard so far, Barbirolli's approach isn't "Nordic" (cold, bleak, slow) it's more "Elgarian" (majestic, noble) and filled with an emphasis of the inner details.
