His Beethoven concerto under Cluijtens, the Brahms under Klemperer, the Shostakovich under Mravinsky and the Sibelius under Ehrling are performances I can't do without. DFO was a great violininist and I hope you will hear his splendour as well. His best performances come from the late 40-ies and early 50-ies, the later ones with Ormandy are less impressive, but still very good.Rob
