This's just my little corner of the planet, but our new (only two years old in its current incarnation) Alabama Symphony Orchestra under Richard Westbrook is making excellent music. Yo-yo Ma will open our next Masterworks season in September. Soon thereafter, the ASO will play Shostakovich's No. 5.Already drooling (of course, this is a chronic condition for me …),
