.......your concept of silences as dramatic pauses between musical phrases or even individual notes within a measure.......I'm in total agreement with you on Beethoven being the KING!!! Those pauses are particularly evident in his string quartets....and unlike Mr. Part....I don't get up to check if my CD transport is malfunctioning!!Regard's, Tom B.
