Yeah, I also want that Walter Mahler 2 on vinyl but didn't find it yet. The CD of 'Das Lied' is unlistenable, it's like Ferrier is in a bathroom with absorbing walls compared to the vinyl version where you indeed hear a warm alto.I'm not to fond about that Maureen Forrester, although Henri-Louis de la Grange, the most eminent Mahler biographer has her in high esteem.
I've got the ( wartime) Furties on Music and Arts and they're the greatest I ever heard; the Berliner are a huge machine totally in control of an angry Furt and the interpretations are profound and majestuous, but that's no wonder for the man who left a concert by Toscanini saying he was mere a beat-swayer.
