Thanks for your concern. I would not have done that on anything much more difficult than this trip, which is one step above a float trip. As part of the trip took us through a fairly bad section of the city, the most serious hazard would be not being able to hear the gun shots. The next trip is Friday. I plan to listen to the last part of the cycle on Saturday, warm and dry, in my living room.Maybe some day, I'll get a waterproof cd or tape player, and listen to The Flying Dutchman. That sounds a little more appropriate. Or better yet, some loudspeakers blaring the "Ride of the Valkyries". That should scare the hell out of 'em when they see a whole flotilla of canoes and kayaks come around the corner with the sun at our backs! (God, I love the smell of neoprene in the morning!) :-)
