I'm just most amused by this flurry of posts. Seems for the most part that the people who have actually listened to HDTT files are quite complimentary of Bob Witrak's work. The people who have not listened just throw rocks over perceived notions of provenance. Bob used to post at least a little information about his source tapes. But it's this sort of nonsense that caused him to simply stop a year or so ago. I was surprised to see him finally post that his KOB DSD256 release came from a 15ips 2-track tape (a courtesy copy or safety copy? he doesn't say).I agree with those who have posted affirming comments. Most of the HDTT releases in DXD and DSD256 sound great. Many are simply superb. As have a few others, I've compared many HDTT releases to the various "commercial" digital releases. To my ears, the HDTT releases frequently (consistently?) sound more transparent, with greater resolution, and with more natural analog sound. Just better all the way around.
I think I'll just go back to listening to a few and enjoying them. ;-)
