I must admit I too was a victim of his chicanery. It happened last year and I was going to post, and was torn between not wanting to start a problem here and feeling other inmates needed to know when a friend of mine said "I think they know already..." so I didn't post.
My order was even quite simple. A hundred feet of wire or so. I needed it to build some of the first modded maggies I was making for customers, and the only reason I used him was he is the only one who sells the wire I use in a white teflon jacket, as well as black and red.
Well, one month went by.... no wire, no word.
I wrote an email.....no reply
Two months went by.... no wire, no word.
I wrote another email.....no reply
Meanwhile I had two people asking me when their speakers would be done...
At about two and a half months I lost it and demanded I get a reply or I was going to call the FBI. I said either fill the order, explain why you can't, or refund me.
He actually chose to refund me! Now, it wasn't a lot of money in audio terms but it was nothing to throw away so casually. What's more, it took him a while to paypal it back, and when he did he did it in a way I had to wait over a week for it to "clear" so I could actually have it. And the killer is his very brief note managed to express an opinion that I was the problem somehow, not him.
So, 3 months lost, 3% of my money lost to paypal, and nothing to show for it. I ordered the wire from parts connection in canada then and it was here in 5 days. No need to say where I shop now.
It's all about the music...
