the new surrounds might be a little stiff. This is assuming that they were installed correctly. Also, did you contact Snell and ask for their recommendation? About 10 years ago, I replaced the drivers in my trusty original E's (1982), Snell actually had the serial numbers still on file. They sent me the matched drivers plus x-overs.
