You might be wondering about all 3 of us who have replied mentioning tube pre and solid state power amp combos.
The tube pre gives some warmth for what "us in the know" call the Tube sound...
THe solid state power amps are good for grunt and bass extension, not that all tube power amps lack bass but they are not famous for deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep bass.
You might care to look at Consonance amps. They are Chinese, but well made, very well received, and here in OZ at least incredibly cheap.
I don't know the American distributers, but I'll give you a link to the Aussie one and you cn at least look at their performances...
Tey are handled here by Osborn Loudspeakers and I can wholeheartedly recommend them. Just check some of the reviews. Prices vary wildly... They are about 1/3 the price here of in Europe... fancy and Australian holiday????
Do take a lot of time deciding... all mistakes are costly!
