About the safest recommendation I can make for an excellent quality "all purpose" headphone. The sound is both relaxed and detailed, musical and accurate, and about as neutral as they come. To boot, these are the most utterly comfortable pair of headphones I've ever tried. You can wear 'em for hours and hours (and I do) without any fatigue. I've lived with mine for 5 years now, and other than being tempted briefly by the HD600's, have never looked back. NOTE:This model has now been discontinued by Sennheiser, so deals are available. "Retail@$349.00"...LOL! Try $155.00 from www.musicdirect.com, bundled WITH Sennheiser's Dolby DSP PRO signal processor for home theater. This thing is a blast to watch movies with, especially if you do it late at night, and don't want to keep anyone up.
At this price, a no-brainer.
