Nikon Coolpix 995

218.145.25.15

I'm a little late to this post, but recommend the Nikon CoolPix 995. I searched for months and narrowed the field to a handful, but eventually chose the Nikon for a few reasons.
1) It takes great pictures, beating competitors in side-by-side tests. See link below for a database of digital camera reviews.
2) It has manual adjustments as well as automatic. Many cameras have manual settings, but only offer a couple adjustments. The Nikon has more fine-tune adjustments than most for when I outgrow the automatic feature. Plus, it has the best-shot selector, which shoots three pictures, compares them for sharpness, and saves the best. That's just one of the many useful features this camera offers. It can be a point and shoot, or offer more to the advanced camera buff.
3) Swivel body construction makes shooting over crowds, or shooting kids easier. As my body ages, I really appreciate this feature. I originally didn’t think too much of it, until I started taking pictures. Now, I wouldn’t buy one without it.
4) Reviews give good ratings on battery life.
5) The software that comes with the unit is powerful, and will fix just about anything you throw at it.

I just checked pricescan.com and found it for $375.
Hope this helps.
