Pink Floyd Pulse

24.116.39.8

My Pink Floyd Pulse CD's blinking LED has bitten the dust. I was going to fix this but have a need for a couple of other blinking LED's. So I took apart the Floyd one and noticed it has two components on the circuit board. The LED and a small black plastic disc/wafer. Very thin. Roughly two pieces of paper thick.

Anyone know what this is? I like the flash rate and would like to duplicate the circuit. I have seen circuits all over the web but they are IC based. I have also seen blinking LED's but I would prefer to use a rectangualt LED. No one makes rectangular blinking LED's (that I have seen).

So in summary I would like a simple, small Rectangular LED blinking circuit. The Floyd one would do if someone knows how to recreate it.

Radio Shack sells a premade one Part number 276- 299 but again it is a round LED and I cannot tell what the other pieces of the circuit are.

I know it is a bit goofy so hold the flames..........thanks....Obsessed
