If there is one thing that gets my interest when I read about all the various brands of audio this and audio that, it's when I see a consensus building from a variety of sources.I have probably read in at least 4 or 5 different places how the Wolcott Presence amps made Soundlab ES speakers sound the best that [the writer] has ever heard them. I believe the Soundlabs have a very low impedance in the upper octaves as well, and are "difficult" in that regard. However, their impedance is high in the low frequencies I thing..?
Anyway, the Wolcott is somewhat unique among tube amps in that it is A) high power and B) has very low output impedance (adjustable).
I haven't heard these amps, just saying that they have been brought up often as a fantastic match with ES speakers that can present difficult or at least "interesting" loads.

p.s. when SEARCH is working again, try doing a "Wolcott" search over on the Planar board or other ES / planar boards. They will give you more qualified info!
