Roon has automatic headroom management and volume leveling options that can be enabled. There are manual adjustments that can be made in the software too.

I don't sweat intersample overs. If they ever happen, I never hear them.
Some DACs from Benchmark and RME [probably others too] are able to properly handle intersample overs rough DSP done within the DAC but separate from the DAC chip itself.
