If you use a DAC just run the coax fron player to dac then rca's to pre. If you are all so using DVD to TV run the vidio signal to the TV. Audio will still run thru the dac into the pre. If you get the HD 970 you can pass on the DAC, run audio to pre, vidio to TV.
