They fitted a new laser for a fee $189. Works the way it should now (before it would stop mid-way through a CD). Fed into a Lite Audio DAC-60 and music oozes out in such a way that you aren't immediately aware you are listening to a digital source. It's a lovely sound. It's taken me a while to find a way of hearing CD sound this good without spending lots of wonga on an exotic player.
