Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Forget the promises and enjoy both formats.

I think each format has its own set of strengths and weaknesses. Neither one is perfect. It's our job to sort all of this out and determine how to enjoy the best of both. Digitized music doesn't have to emulate an analog record to be musically compelling. Release your preconceptions of what perfect sound is supposed to be the next time you spin a silver disc. Try to judge a cd player on its own musical merit instead of an A/B comparison.

It's also helps to minimize software duplication. If you already own it on Lp then don't buy the cd. Save your cd money for stuff that you can't get on Lp, and vis versa. This will keep you from stagnating on one format.

If you're buying a new cd player every year then maybe you're spending too much time comparing sound and not enough time listening to music. Maybe this makes sense to you, maybe I've lost my mind again.
