Re: Monolithic Sound HC-2b vs. MSB P1000 Questions

The P1000 improves the sound overall,it is a MAJOR improvement! I've had the P1000 and the Fullnelson Link Dac for 4 years now(I did have the Link III originaly) the Fullnelson is a BIG improvement on the III. The P1000 provided another major step forward, clarity, bass, high end extension, etc.I'm currently running a Philips 963SA, digital out into DTI-PRO then a balanced out to the MSB Fullnelson w/upsampling(the balanced out also makes a huge improvement). Then analog out to a Cary SLP 308 tube pre-amp. My power amp is a Musical Concepts Hafler DH-220(the only original piece on the amp is the case!) I'm using Anti-Cables speaker wire ($1.25/foot raw) If you haven't tried this wire,DO!!!!!!This inturn is bi-wired to my Magnapan MG 1.6 QR's.The sound is very smooth and dynamic,I can listen for hours on end and never get fatigued! My previous speaker wire was Kimber 8TC,which I liked alot until I tried the Anti-cables(they require at least 30 days to break in)Yes, the P1000 is a no-brainer as they say!Good Luck.
