Excuse me, may I ask you which kind of differences in sound have you experienced going from the 12v wall wart to the 12v sealed lead acid battery ?
Have you connected the battery directly to the PCB or have you put any cap in between ?
From my humble experience a good cap (high uF and quality) placed after the battery helps a lot.
Anyway very interesting thread.
