Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Re: Any thoughts about digital music servers

hey andy,

SOunds like a cool setup.

I have a much more pedestrian rig.

THe PC is fanless with quite hard drives, so it is in the room, and for control, I use a wireless touch screen that I can hold in my lap, or sit next to the listening chair.

I also don't use the pc for anything besides audio. It is not even connected to the internet, and has no antivirus programs...but it doesn't need any of that, and works great.

I haven't noticed any polution from having the computer in the room. FWIK, its processor emitts less RF than a normal computer, and the fact that it is slow (as computers go, but great for audio), is supposed to cut down on the emmissions, and this system is actually way better sounding than my old transport/ Dac combo.
