I've been listening to a few players in this price range. In oder of what I have liked so far:
NAD M55
Naim Nait 5x (too expensive however)
Naim Nait 5i
Marantz SA15I've heard some great players that are way over my budget, but not a lot I like in my range. Also, I find most of the shops in my area have only one make I can audition and I have to hear a diferent player on a other system in a diferent store. I'm thinking the Cary 303/300 would be a good listen from what I've read, I've seen them around for my price range 2nd hand. They say the NAD M5 will be better than the M55, if and when it comes out. I find I'm shying away from players that are too bright or put emphasis on technical detail over musicality.
Anything I should be looking for in this seemingly difficult region.
