Hi allI was searching for a decent CD player on Saturday and found 2 second hand units in a local hi-fi retailer. One is a Teac VRDS-7 and the other a Marantz CD6000Ki and Both were £200.
I was allowed sale or return within 2 weeks so I bought them both.
I listened for hours on Saturday and yesterday and can't decide which I should return - both are in perfect condition by the way.
The Teac sounds very involving with weighty, well defined bass but sounds a bit veiled at the top and slightly smeared so a little less open than the Marantz which sounds more refined and images a touch better but has a more one-dimensional bass end which is a bit murky and slow. I use valve equipment and high efficiency speakers.
Can anybody help me make my mind up as both units have relative strengths and weaknesses and I can't decide which will offer long term satisfaction.
Thanks all
Paul
