Okay, I admit that I'm biased, but your sonic summary of the Lector does not match my own experiences with this player. Which version have you been listening to? (The unit has been updated twice since being introduced to the States, and the new MKII version is being introduced later this month.)
Regarding importation, you are correct in saying that Fanfare is no longer distributing this line. However, Aaudio Imports has picked up the line, and that is good new for both past and future buyers of Lector gear...
