You might also audition the new Cary 306.I haven't heard the Stibbert but I'm guessing from talking with folks who have that it might also fill your bill. The Wadia is a classy player but a different flavor family from the Cary, Lector and Blue Note players.
Having heard the Opus 21, I would say it's lack of dynamics and rhythmic power may not float your boat.
I'm not a huge Naim fan but you can't beat them for PRAT.
I'm the "wife" and I thought the Lector looked fine - is it the 2 box chassis yours objects to?
