RainX is good for a protective coat, but it will not remove scratches, I use Brasso it's a perfect scratch remover for cd's and gives a nice polished finish, just be carefull when polising the playing side, don't scratch the label side as this is the reflective coating (zeros and ones), if sratched all you'll have is a clear piece of plastic.Cheers George
