Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Nope

You're right about the technology having changed. Mine is not totally quiet, very detailed and jitter free. But musically, i find the NAD and Cambridge to be musically sterile, a problem with all the modern digital filters. This old player is very musical, or at least mine is and the only others that i have heard that come close in that department are the Naim 5i and Quad 99. I play this into a very nice, high quality head amp and the sound is intoxicating, much more to my liking than my Arcam CD-192T. Over all, i prefer CDPs without up/oversampling on most music, but that's another story.
