Modding a CD player to become a DAC.........Is this possible?

Hello,
Would it be possible to have a cd player modded to add a digital input to the player?Either coax,toslink or USB.I was wondering if anyone would know if this could be done.I was thinking of the McIntosh MCD201 player,changing into a Dac with at least one input.
Any info would be appreciated.
