Opinions on Teac PD 30 transport

A bit of advise please, I am planning to go the separate DAC Transport route, partly because I want to try the K&K Audio RAKK DAC. I have Kevin Carters Phono stage and love the sound, so I would like to explore the DAC. A close Audio friend has used the TEAC PD 30 for about 6 years and is looking to upgrade to the newer PD 70. I have heard the 30 in his system and was pretty impressed. Has anyone any opnion on this transport. I know TEAC are highly respected and the source for many "High End" digital products(Wadia). I wondered how the 30 stacks up against similarly priced opposition and whether spares can still be sourced, though I can ask TEAC about that, thankyou.
