Home Cable Asylum

Interconnects, speaker wire, power cords. Ask the Cable Guys.

My Nordost/Creek experience.

208.219.14.2

I had a 4330 integrated for 3 years. I replaced AQ type 6 cables with Nordost Flatline and noticed an improvement in clarity and impact (sligh decrease in bas output though). I then upgraded to the Blue Heavens, but still preferred the Flatlines. The Blue Heavens had a colder, thinner sound that removed warmth from almost every record. I noticed this trend was the same with my nest amp, a Rogue 88. Also when compared to Analysis Plus Oval 12s and nearly all my homebrew cables, the Nordost line showed a peakiness in the upper-mid/low-treble region. I think this is waht leads to the "wow this sounds much quicker" effect you get when putting Nordost cables in the first time, but it gets fatiquing over the long haul. This emphasis was more pronounced with the Blue Heavens than with the Flatlines. Nordost did not work for me, so I can't recommend them.

BTW my speakers were Spica TC50s, Signet SL260 and Meadowlark Kestrels (which I still have).

Good Luck,
Rob
