The Silver Odin was connected with 3 wires on hot (on one side), 3 on neutral (on 1 side) and the middle 1 on earth. No foil was used as a shield/drain on both ends (floating). I swapped the connectors (C-004 on IEC and Viborg 511R on Schuko) and changed the wire configuration to 3 pairs of Hot/Neutral and 1 earth. The magnetic field around the cable is more balanced this way. Lower stray fields for the other cables around the back of my system. I can not compare to the gold version because I haven't used one. But compared to the Ramm Amadeus 5 MKII, The Odin sounded fatter and more open (especially on NUC and DAC/Pre-Amp).
I think the air dilektricum of the Odin is better then the Ramm because of the microfilament, and the silver plating is adding some brilliance and decay. But the Ramm was no slouch either. Warm & open is a combo you don't find very often. The funny thing is that my system stills sounds warm with the silver Odin and my 'hard' plugs. I have zero harshness. I can play as loud as I want (for all day). My harshness was gone when I went optical on my DAC and used optical/FMC's for ethernet.
What is your idea of mixing Rhodium/Copper connectors? I would use the pure copper on the plug side instead of the IEC. If it gets oxidized you can clean the pins easier. That is why I bought the C-004 for the IEC side. I hope you find the combo that works for you.
