Used to be that the so called 'dark web' was a hidden domain, and you needed special software to access it. Not any more! Telegram delivers it to your smart phone or desktop, no problem!

A few people in this forum have argued against the arrest of Pavel Durov. Like he was some kind of hero or stood for principles of 'freedom of speech'.

Comrade Chris? Emailtim? Are you still both champions of Durov and Telegram? Make your best argument!

My take? Telegram's claim to be a model for free speech is disingenuous, because it has become a haven for illegal activities, extremism, and disinformation. Telegram selectively enforces moderation policies, prioritizing its founder's anti-regulation ideology over legal and ethical responsibilities.
