Streaming lossless from the internet with a Pi, how exactly?

Seems all the streaming services are offering CD quality streams for $10/mo now. Question is...How to get that lossless stream to the stereo via a Pi? IOW, what software would one use to access these services and get it out* of the Pi lossessly (presumably controlling it all with a smartphone app)? I've read some software or hardware might downsample/downgrade the CD Quality lossless to something lesser, so really wondering how to avoid that. Safe to assume any software that does this will also be able to access lossless files stored on a USB stick plugged into the Pi? TIA.

*Getting it out of the Pi could be via the Pi's USB, A DAC HAT, or digital output HAT feeding a DAC.
