This might be the best thing I have ever written...

Most of the Americans I have met who had any knowledge at all about Belgian-French rock singer Johnny Hallyday seemed to write him off as a "Local-Hero Elvis Imitator."

In this long and winding article, I am so bold as to suggest that Johnny was, indeed, when compared to Elvis, "Il migliore fabbro"--The Greater Maker. Or, Content Creator.

I base that claim on the song Michel Berger wrote for Johnny, "Quelque chose de Tennessee."

Which is not about the state in the Mid-South. It's about Tennessee Williams, the playwright who wrote "A Streetcar Called 'Desire'" and "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof."

Please read the whole thing, and view all the videos.

Well-balanced and sane comments welcome.
