Below is a set of operating points published in Stereo Sound in issue 201.845 tube
430 plate volts
62 madc plate current
-51 grid volts
5,000 ohms pri impedance
4,000 milliwatts power output
I heard an amp that ran at values very close to the above. I thought it sounded really great. Had a lot of weight, authority, impact and the a very warm effortless sound.MSL

I have always thought about this.Would it work with a 3.5K transformer?
Still keeping the 60mA or so operating point..
Just curious.

Hey Mikey!
How much snow did you get the other day? Say, old hoss, would you by any chance know of a schematic that uses those operating points or could be adapted to them? I really want to try a low power 845 but I am not at a level yet where I can design my own. Thanks!
Vinnie
Thanks, this seems to be what I recall seeing some time ago. Any ideas about output iron that would be up to the quiescent DC current?
