Anyone has compared this dAck with other well-known DAC's such as MF 3.24 and Perpetual PA3? Any opinion is appreciated. Thanks.

hi oracle,to be honest i haven't heard the dack! dac. but i have the modwright p3a perpetual technologies dac and it is a ripper. the stock p3a is okay but looks like the dack! may be the one to go for. it is getting some killer reviews.
the modwright p3a is very good but is going to cost quite a few dollars more.
best wishes
My brother is in line to get his Ack! dAck in a couple weeks and he has the MF 3.24 box. I'll try and get him to post his impressions. He loves the MF, but has heard me rav about the dAck for awhile and wanted to try one. I guess the waiting list for a demo unit is pushing out, so you can buy one a lot quicker than seeing a demo unit.....go figure! These babies are such a bargin at the price.I'm awaiting a set of interconnects from Ack! Industries that should be very interesting. Ack! is considering marketing an IC that should be extremely synergistic with the dAck. He's still in the proto phase though.
Tommy,Like your brother I'm in the queue with Chris for a demo unit. Hoping for mid-September shipment.
I had no idea Chris was playing with S/PDIF interconnects. As this will be my first DAC I went out and got a Belden 1695A based digital IC with Canare crimp RCAs. I'll be using some HomeGrownAudio Super Silver ICs between the DAC and preamp. *Hopefully these will both compliment Chris' DAC.* I noted that he isn't a big fan of copper like Belden 89259 for regular ICs, preferring silver laced numbers instead. My vintage Philips CDC-935 will see duty as my transport -:)
There's no one answer on interconnects. Besides the dAck, the rest of your system also plays into it as well. I'm using an old pair of XLO Signature 1's from about 10 years ago and Chris couldn't believe I liked them. For me they are fast, very detailed and quite dynamic. I'm also using the Kimber KCAG digital IC. I tried a couple brands of digital IC and the Kimber was the best I had. Although I'm sure other choices are equally good or even better. Awhile back someone recommended DH Labs digital cables for around $50 a pair, they might be interesting to try. It's funny when the total price of my dAck interconnects are more expensive than the actual dAck.
