...rated the number two receiver. Came in second only to an $800 Onkyo.By the way, they were also high on a $500 JVC EX-A1 micro music system. The little wood speakers had wooden cones made of birch soaked in sake (to prevent cracking or breaking while being shaped). No lie, that's what it said. : * )

I read an article that it seemed to work with really CHEAP Sake better than the good stuff strangely enough. Kind of like saying that it works best with Franzia and not Chateaux Margeaux '67...
It was even better than their $79 Yorx one-unit minisystem from 1991.

I've lusted for a pair of those speakers for comparison with my Jordans. Portable and coherent, the perfect system for Everyman it looks to be. Ah, if only it had a Sirius tuner built in and could receive an uncompressed signal! A google search of "Sujesh Pavithran" was surprising.

I wouldn't mention Consumer Reports when it came to evaluating anything but maybe a blender or possibly a toaster depending on the toast testing technique. They still only test with standard power cords on all appliances for petes sake! Imagine the RF we could all be stuck with in our margaritas and bagels had we not tried the tweaks ourselves.
I do enjoy the Panny SAX45 for the money however. It makes a great family room TV/music rig.
