I haven't auditioned the digital amps in my own system, so I can't give a first hand observation, but why are you prejudiced against them before auditioning them? That just seems silly to me. The firms that are producing these units have 100 times the R&D budget of the "audiophile approved" brands that you mention.

Remember that we are dealing with a new and different technology here. Traditional amplifier technology hasn't changed much for decades.
