And what happens if the output of the amp suddenly changes phase 180degr. transient?

Huh? Transients are about amplitude versus time. Or more specifically, high amplitudes over short periods of time. Phase versus time, which is what you seem to be talking about here, is about frequency. If a signal is changing its phase more "suddenly," then it just means that the signal's frequency is increasing.

So I'm not sure what you're getting at here.
