I had a S-C pair (amp and tuner) from an old console stereo (why does ASR-433 keep popping in my head?), and the tuner had a pair of Conn 12AU7s, which IIRC were made by Amperex.

Sorry if things sound foggy about my remembrances. I only had the two pieces for a month or so before I sold them (again IIRC, to some guy in Florida).

Like Jim said though, they could be made by anyone...
