I do agree with you as even I'm lucky enough to own the 808 Mk.V, I would still have a tube reference preamp with me as there's simply no subsitiute for good tube gears!
For your info I've just ordered the new Hovland HP-100 all-tubed preamp... in my all-tube system (including the DAC!) Cheers!
