Just heard the Aras. They're absolutely brilliant. At that price, who needs deep bass when bass notes are so clear and delineated? They're so fast it's hard to believe they're ported.
There's no question that the new CDPs are better, but what do you think of the original Mira vs. the 2000?
I've heard the 2000 a number of times and think it's a fair bit leaner; it doesn't have the sonic weight of the old gear.
Also, shame about some of the new tactile qualities. CDP lids and volume knobs now have a chintzier feel to them. However, as I understand it, the new knob is 'a better sounding unit'.Cheers,
